Puzzle RPG Android Apps: A Look at US Performance in Q1 2021

The first quarter of 2021 has shown interesting trends for the top five Puzzle RPG applications on the Android platform in the United States. Here's a snapshot of their performance, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Puzzles & Survival, published by 37GAMES, saw a steady increase in revenue, climbing from approximately $544K in the first week of January to nearly $964K by the end of March. Downloads peaked in early January at 88K before gradually declining to 50K by March's end. Weekly active users showed an upward trend, starting at 111K and reaching 133K in early March, then slightly dropping to 118K.

Best Fiends - Match 3 Puzzles by Seriously Digital Entertainment Oy. had a fluctuating revenue pattern, starting at around $671K and ending the quarter on a high note with $657K. The downloads showed a slight increase from 17K to 19K over the quarter, while weekly active users saw a significant rise, from 343K to 408K.

Zynga's Empires & Puzzles: Match-3 RPG experienced a notable revenue boost, starting at $1.08M and soaring to $1.38M by the end of Q1. Download numbers were modest, with an increase from 8.5K to 12K in mid-January before settling at 7.7K. Active users remained fairly stable, hovering around 253K at the start and ending at 267K.

Puzzles & Conquest, another title from 37GAMES, saw its revenue grow from $160K to $207K over the quarter. The game’s downloads experienced a slight decrease, starting at 7.6K and reducing to 3.3K. Weekly active users had a slight decline, starting at 58K and decreasing to 52K by the end of March.

Lastly, DRAGON BALL Z DOKKAN BATTLE from Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. had a dramatic start to the quarter with revenue at $2.29M, which then fluctuated and ended at around $1.02M. Downloads began at 22.8K, dipping to 4K by March's end, and weekly active users showed a modest increase from 114K to 113K.
